Ein Gedi

Ein Gedi, meaning “spring of the kid (young goat)” in Hebrew, is an oasis and nature reserve situated west of the Dead Sea, near Masada and the Qumran Caves. In 2016, it was recognized as one of the country’s most popular natural sites, drawing approximately one million visitors annually.

Ein Gedi served as a significant refuge for David during his evasion of Saul’s pursuit, as described in 1 Samuel 23:28–29. This biblical connection adds to the allure of this serene sanctuary, where visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of nature and rich historical significance.
